The possibility of losing the capacity to manage our personal affairs is something we should all consider, not only just as we grow older. Not having a Power of Attorney in place can have serious consequences.

In order for someone to be able to assist you with your affairs when you may be unable to do so, it is possible to appoint an attorney by executing a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA).

Whether it be for financial or health decisions, having an appointed attorney is an important safeguard to have in place so that a person of your choice is able to assist you when you may be most vulnerable.

We can advise on how Lasting Powers of Attorney work in practice and the process for getting them in place, as well as drafting and registering the LPAs on your behalf.
