When a loved one passes away there can be a lot to consider if you are appointed to be the Executor in their Will. From liaising with banks and companies to repaying debts and distributing to beneficiaries, there is a duty on the Executor to carry out the administration of the estate correctly. In particular when having to consider aspects such as; applying for probate, paying inheritance tax (if any), dealing with any trusts in Wills, finalising income tax matters, settling pensions and dealing with minor beneficiaries, this can be time consuming and complex.

It is important for the Executor to ensure that every part of the administration is handled appropriately, so our Probate team are here to assist with whatever level of support an Executor may need. Similarly, where someone has died without leaving a valid Will, there are particular rules to consider for the next of kin and our team are here to support the family in making the administration of the estate easier. Alternatively, we can deal with all of the administration on your behalf, relieving you of the stress and pressure during an already difficult time.

If you need assistance with dealing with the estate administration or probate of someone who has passed away, or if you are just needing some advice regarding dealing with their affairs then we are more than happy to help.
