Choosing a Conveyancer – Are you in the process of buying or selling your home?

Posted on April 9th, 2024 in News.

Are you in the process of buying or selling your home?  If so, your estate agent will ask you to choose a conveyancer.

What is a Conveyancer?

A conveyancer is someone who specialises in the legal process of transferring property.  Some conveyancers are also experts in land law and can help with many legal issues relating to property.

The conveyancing process involves property contracts, deeds, searches and enquiries.  A good conveyancer will make all the difference to how you feel during your move and, if you’re buying a new home, will make sure you have a legal title that is simple to sell in the future.

Choosing a Conveyancer

Whilst many estate agents helpfully recommend conveyancers with whom they have a working relationship, you have the opportunity and the right to appoint your own.

At Eldridges, we value our relationships with agents and appreciate that they recommend us to their home movers, but we also have many clients who come back to us time and again and recommend us to their friends and family.  We aim to build relationships for life with our clients and we take pride in providing a personal service to make the conveyancing process as smooth and simple as possible.

Here are some reasons we think Eldridges is a good choice for you:

  • Impartiality and Independence: We are on your side and will act in your best interests, without any influence from third parties.  We will ensure you receive a fair service without any hidden agendas or additional costs.
  • Protection of Your Legal Rights: We will explain simply your legal rights and obligations throughout the transaction.  We will review contracts thoroughly, conduct property searches, and handle all legal aspects of the transaction on your behalf.
  • Personalised Attention: We will deliver a personalised service with individual support throughout the process.  We will keep you informed at every step, address any concerns you may have, and provide guidance tailored to your specific situation.
  • Holistic Advice: We have expertise in many areas of law including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Probate (including Will disputes), Family and Divorce, Litigation, Mediation and Dispute Resolution, as well as Commercial Property.  You can be confident that we can advise you thoroughly in-house.

Eldridges has been serving the Island community and beyond since 1832 and prides itself in being a high street firm delivering an excellent service face to face.  If we can help you with your move, we have a dedicated conveyancing team ready to assist and will be pleased to hear from you.
